From Pacelli Sports (COLUMBUS, GA) — The Pacelli Flag Football team has kicked off the season with a blazing start, currently boasting an impressive 7-0 record. As the defending state champions, they have not only maintained their status as the team to beat in the state of Georgia but have also earned national recognition, securing the 18th spot in the nation and an outstanding third place in Georgia’s overall rankings.
One remarkable aspect of the Lady Vikings’ early-season dominance is their exceptional performance on the road. All seven victories have been achieved away from home, showcasing their ability to handle pressure and excel in challenging environments.
Perhaps the most astonishing feat is the Lady Vikings’ defensive prowess. They have recorded shutouts against formidable opponents, including Peachtree Ridge (GHSA AAAAAAA), Central Forsyth (AAAAAAA), Mount De Sales (GIAA AAA), Central Macon (GHSA AA), and Woodstock (GHSA AAAAAAA). This extraordinary defensive record underscores the team’s dedication, discipline, and tenacity.
Offensively, the Lady Vikings have been equally outstanding. Tamiyah Carter has been a standout player, amassing 292 rushing yards and 378 passing yards. Notably, Kendall Issacs has contributed 508 passing yards, adding depth to the team’s offensive capabilities.
In the receiving department, Addie Christenson has been a force to be reckoned with, racking up 373 yards and leading the state in points scored with seven touchdowns. Tamiyah Carter has also made significant contributions with 123 receiving yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Lady Vikings have demonstrated their strength with 19 sacks so far this year. Yanna Williams leads the team with seven sacks, while Tiffany Johnson is close behind with six.
Furthermore, the team’s defensive prowess is highlighted by an impressive 16 interceptions on the year. McKayla Hosley and Tamiyah Ransom have both collected five interceptions, with each of them returning one for a touchdown.
